Involving local companies in development

Energy Research Consulting attended “A Conversation with MCC CEO, Sean Cairncross,” hosted by the Center for Global Development. We asked him if he and MCC would consider making development projects more sustainable by making it mandatory for their implementers to involve local companies. DAUST Freshman Seminar

February 2018

DAUST Freshman SeminarOn Thursday, February 8, 2018, DAUST hosted Dr. Quinta Nwanosike Warren, P.E., a chemical engineer with experience in energy and sustainability, who spoke with our students about the following topic: «The Energy-Water Nexus: The Role Engineers Can Play. » She worked for ConocoPhillips for 6 years on CO2 capture research, and as a reservoir engineer for heavy oil and tight gas assets. Dr. Warren currently works with the US Department of Energy as a AAAS Fellow, learning about and contributing to domestic and international policy around power generation. She holds a PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular engineering from Georgia Tech, and a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Penn State. Dr. Warren owns a consulting company called Engineering Research Consulting (www.EngrRC.com), which focuses on issues related to energy, sustainability, and process design/optimization. She is part of a group that started the STEM-focused Dakar American University of Science and Technology (www.daust.org) in Senegal. She recently published a textbook titled “A Practical Guide to Oil & Gas Resource Characterization for Geologists and Reservoir Engineers.”
