Oil & Gas Resource Characterization Book Published

Resource CharacterizationResource Characterization is what drives the upstream oil and gas industry. It is the process by which hydrocarbons are quantified. It can also include the valuation of said hydrocarbon resources.

Although resource characterization is very important in the petroleum industry, very few texts directly address this task. It is left to the reservoir engineer or geologist to combine different theories to try to complete the task.

Dr. Quinta Nwanosike-Warren has addressed this problem by publishing a new book called “A Practical Guide to Oil & Gas Resource Characterization for Geologists and Reservoir Engineers”. The book is a step-by-step guide to resource characterization. Workflows and helpful tips are provided for both reservoir engineers and geologists. Both mature plays and new discoveries are addressed. The book even covers how best to report findings from resource characterization.

This much needed book is available at various sites including Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Dr. Nwanosike-Warren runs Engineering Research Consulting LLC where she performs Resource Characterization for clients. Her professional bio can be found at EngrRC.com.
